  • JTF-13: VMFA-224 Strike Fighter Squadron "Fighting Bengals"

    Commander: @Tim | "Void"

The Bengals are one of the founding squadrons of JTF 13. We are very proud to represent Marine aviation and its heritage inside the task force. We typically focus on the air to ground mission set, supporting the boots on the ground directly. Flexibility is key and we are quick to adapt to the roles and tactics needed to complete the mission. As Marines we operate out of both aircraft carriers and airfields near the front line. We are looking for all types of pilots from all skill levels and backgrounds. Our aviators operate mainly on European and American time zones.

    Previous Commanders:
    LtCol. @Utley | "Yeast" - 401 (2021-2021)
    Col. @Jake | "Optimist" (2020-2021)
    Col. @Derek | "Shady" (2019-2020)

  • The actual Marine All Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 224 (VMFA(AW)-224) is a United States Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet squadron. Also known as the "Fighting Bengals", the squadron is based at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina and falls under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 31 (MAG-31) and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (2nd MAW). The Bengals are one of only two Marine F/A-18D Hornet Squadrons currently operating out of MCAS Beaufort, S.C, the other is the Hawks.
